After our breakfast buffet of breads, cereal and fruit, we had a morning activity - we took quads out through the desert. After I got scolded for drifting the quad in the staging area, we rode through the black desert (named because it is covered in dark rocks) to a lake. A big lake in the middle of the Sahara desert. Then we headed off into the dunes, where I twice got stuck climbing a steep dune. The quads were fun.
After getting cleaned up we had lunch; a salad, spaghetti, and fruit cocktail. Then headed off on our 180 mile afternoon ride. Most of the trip was long straight roads so again we got to see plenty of 150's and 160's on the speedo. It all was worth it when we made a stop at a hotel on the side of a mountain and the road up to it:
The way back down it started to rain so it was a bit slow going. Once back down to town it was only a few miles to our hotel for the night. And wow, what an amazing hotel. The places we stay just keep getting better and better.
More relaxing and drinks and a buffet dinner like last nights; various meats, rice, bread, veggies, fruit.
