Today was a light day, only 189 miles so we got to sleep in a bit and got to the hotel plenty early.
Much of the same kind of riding, lots of twisties and some good straight sections. Lots of 150's on the speedo today.
We headed to the Volubilis Roman City Ruins near Moulay Idriss and had lunch at a little restaurant at the entrance to the site. It is a national monument and they charge a fee for access so we didn't actually go up to the ruins. Lunch included lamb and rice.
The afternoon route was short and took us to a very nice 5-star hotel in Meknes, a fairly large city where we saw the first traffic lights since entering Morocco. Being a large city we had quite a bit of traffic and large trucks to work our way through to get here. But in true African fashion, we just closed our eyes and gunned it.
Dinner featured a potato soup, fish, rice, vegetables, and watermelon for dessert.
Tomorrow we head off to the Sahara Desert so we may not have internet again.
Day 2's photos aren't ready yet. They will go up the next time we have internet access. For now, I'm off to bed. We have a long, hot day tomorrow.
